celebrate funding for hazelnuts

Ministry of Agriculture to Provide $300,000 in Funding

Hazelnut funding press releaseA news release on July 16, 2018, from the Ministry of Agriculture, delivered some very welcome and exciting news for BC’s hazelnut industry; the Ministry will be providing $300,000 over three years to the BC Hazelnut Growers Association to assist growers in the recovery of hazelnut orchards in the province. It is hoped this support will also help attract new growers to the hazelnut industry. The funding comes as part of the Ministry’s ‘Grow BC’ Hazelnut Renewal Program.

““The BC Hazelnut Growers Association has worked hard over the past decade to keep a once thriving industry alive, and with the help of the B.C. government, this is being made possible. We are excited about the future of hazelnuts in B.C., and welcome any inquiries about our industry,” says Walter Esau from the board of directors for the BCHGA.
