17 Feb BC Ferries Welcomes Fraser Valley Hazelnuts Products Onboard, Showcasing Local Agriculture
Fraser Valley, BC – Passengers travelling with BC Ferries can now enjoy a true taste of British Columbia. Products from Fraser Valley Hazelnuts are now available for purchase in onboard gift shops, beginning with service on the Spirit of Vancouver and Spirit of British Columbia.
This new partnership highlights the growing demand for locally produced, farm-grown food products and offers travellers high-quality snacks made right here in the Fraser Valley.
The British Columbia Hazelnut Growers Association (BCHGA) recognizes the leadership and dedication of Lana Popham, Minister of Agriculture and Food, whose ongoing work over the past several years has helped create new opportunities for BC farmers to reach broader markets, including retail space on BC Ferries.
“Having our products available on BC Ferries is an exciting milestone for hazelnut growers and local food producers,” said Sue Grubac, Executive Director, BCHGA. “We are incredibly grateful to Minister Popham for her consistent advocacy and for working closely with BC Ferries to make this opportunity possible. Her support for BC agriculture continues to open doors for farmers across the province.”
By featuring Fraser Valley Hazelnuts products onboard, BC Ferries is helping to strengthen connections between travellers and local agriculture while supporting BC’s food economy and farming communities.
“This initiative demonstrates what’s possible when government, transportation partners, and local producers collaborate,” added Charles Dick, President, BCHGA. “Passengers can now experience an authentic BC snack while supporting homegrown businesses.”
BCHGA encourages travellers to look for Fraser Valley Hazelnuts products on their next sailing and join in celebrating local food and the hardworking farmers behind it.
